Public Interest Law Project

ELMI tries to identify and define public interest issues and adopts public interest law strategies to address them.

 

Environmental Democracy Project

This provides a forum for Public Participation in environmental decision making

- assist in formation and strengthening of conditions of public participation in Nigeria(environmental democracy)

 

Legal Aid

It is appreciated that the practice of environmental law is still in its infancy and the teaching restricted. in Nigeria and the West Africa sub region. Realizing that NGOs and community groups seeking to initiate environmental law cases have not appropriate level of legal aid and sometimes are helpless and even when represented, the available legal representation may lack requisite knowledge or expertise, ELMI Public Interest Environmental Legal Aid Service is available at established ELMI offices and at appointed Public Interest offices of Environmental Law. The latter is provided by volunteers within the Nigerian Network of Public Interest Environmental Lawyers. Both offices also provide environmental legal counseling and public interest representation offices.

 

Climate Change Project

This project aims to inform and educate on the emerging concept of climate change and provide credible direction on climate change solutions advocacy.
